What is Happiness

What is Happiness

Let us start with what is happiness? For me happiness is more than a good feeling or a yellow smiley face. It is a state of mind- an emotional well being. It is  a true feeling because when you are happy, you make everyone around you happy, and that is real happiness.
We can find happiness in the little things of life and most of it cannot be bought by money. It is a feeling of fulfilment and satisfaction. You are happy only when you are content and accept life as it comes. Happiness is not a permanent state ,but it is more permanent state than pleasure. So we shouldn’t chase happiness, instead we should choose to be happy. Try to find a place in your mind where you have already decided how good today is, how good the year will be and how good life will be , if  you set a positive intention to be happy with your decision. A lot of happiness is overlooked trying to fit into the system, faking around, fitting into friend circle, social obligations, show off and so on. But the truth is my dear friends ,no amount of money can buy happiness.

Regularly indulging in some practices and finding purpose beyond oneself brings and  increases satisfaction in our lives. We can practice some activities  in our daily lives like gratitude, love, forgiveness, meditation, act of kindness towards the poor and needy, setting and meeting goals, social engagements, meeting or calling friends and family regularly, can largely contribute towards boosting happiness levels .
My mother says if you can’t make it, fake it and eventually it will become a habit and you will learn to be happy. I follow this and it’s turning rewarding for me and I have started finding happiness in doing little things without any extra cost .
Choose to be happy you will live longer and healthier. Remember happy people also have better relationship patterns. Happy people learn better.  So choose to be happy.
