The Indian Penal Code, 1860, enlists and defines various
crimes and also prescribes punishments for the same. It was
amended in 2013 by the Criminal Law Amendment Act 2013,
which was passed after the Nirbhaya Gang Rape Case of 2012
which shook the country. Consequently many more stringent
