It was around the first part of October, 2019 that one of my friends, Alpana proposed a trip to the Orang National Park situated in the Mangaldoi district of Assam

In a way to effectively utilize our mid-sem break, on 22nd March, at around 6:30 AM, Divas, Sohaib and I had left for Agra in a cab. Our start was terrible. Hardly had we reached Greater Noida when one of our cab’s tyres had a blowout. We anyway had to reach Agra by 10:00 AM as we had to get the tickets of night viewing of Taj Mahal from the ASI office, Agra.

Allow me to use this casual circumstance to reminisce about my first adventurous trip outside the state borders, alone with a team of (initially) strangers, to a mystical mountain…

As people say, sudden trips usually succeed. And my first ever college trip has beautifully proven this fact. Stacked with society rehearsals, college festivals and some amount of classes, finding time for a trip appears to be real hard.

The excitement within me was uncontrollable. After practising my underwater skills in a swimming pool for two years I was finally going see myself in the ocean as a freediver.

The day was delightful for us as we felt like celebrities when we left for the trek from Namche to Deboche; we were being filmed by a German-based crew. They were making a documentary movie based on Sherpa culture of Nepal and Jamling sir was one of their main attractions…

The best part about being a Geography Student in Delhi University is that our semester end examination ends much before most of the other courses. So, on 15th May, I had planned a trip to Mcleodganj and more specifically Triund along with my Geography buddies…

The city of fascinating nights. Prominent for many things and epicenter of yet another many. That’s what Delhi is for you, and me too.
