A sumptuous chicken recipe, perfect for dinner. Murgh Makhani is popular Indian (Punjabi Dish) that can be found on many menus. Loved by kids and adults with Nan, Paratha etc. Also can enjoy with pulao or rice.
Ingredients (For marination):
500 gms chicken pieces.
2tsp Ginger Paste
3 tsp Sour Curd
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp vinegar
1 tsp Coriander powder
1 tsp Cumin powder
1/2 Onion chopped
1 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
Salt to taste
Ingredients(For Gravey):
6 Tomatoes
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp Red chilli powder
1 tbsp Ginger
1 tbs Green Chilli
1/4 tbsp tsp Coriander powder
1 tbsp Cumin powder
1 tsp Sugar
Whole Garam Masala
salt to taste
Garnishing:
2 green chillies chopped
1 tbsp Butter or claried Ghee
2 tbsp Fresh Cream
Fresh Coriander Leaves
Method:
Blend tomatoes to a puree.
Mix all the ingredients for marination to make paste.
Marinate the chicken with this paste for 2 hours
Heat butter in a heavy bottom wok and add the chicken to it.
Cook till the chicken is tender (Keep aside).
For gravey in a saucepan heat butter and add whole garam masala, fry and add red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, chopped gingen and chopped chilli.
Fry for sometime.
Add tomato puree, fresh cream and cook on medium flame till uree thickens.
Add the puree to the tender chicken alnng with sugar and crea.
Let it simmer for 20 minutes
Garnish with fresh cream and coriander leaves.
Note: to reduce the cooking time you can also use chicken and eleminate the marination step.
