Buddhism is a religion and philosophy that originated in India in the 6th century BCE. It is based on the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama, also known as the Buddha, who believed in the Four Noble Truths, the Eightfold Path, and the Three Universal Truths. Buddhism is a way of life, a path to inner peace, and a way of understanding the world.

The Four Noble Truths are the fundamental principles of Buddhism. The First Noble Truth is that life is suffering. The Second Noble Truth is that this suffering is caused by craving or attachment to things that are impermanent. The Third Noble Truth is that this suffering can be ended by eliminating craving and attachment. The Fourth Noble Truth is that this can be accomplished by following the Eightfold Path.

The Eightfold Path is a set of guidelines to follow that will lead to the end of suffering and the attainment of inner peace. The path consists of right understanding, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration. Following the Eightfold Path is essential for achieving enlightenment.
